Electrical Design Engineer (Machinery & Packaging Equipment)
Permanent Position
Salary up to £45,000 pa, depending on experience, plus yearly bonus
Location:
St. Neots area (Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire)
Own transportation is required due to the company location
Office based - Monday to Friday
We're looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join a market‑leading manufacturer of food processing & packaging machinery based in the St. Neots - Huntingdon - Cambridge area (Cambs / Beds).
If you enjoy designing control panels, wiring schematics and electrical systems for automated machinery - this one's for you.
What You'll Be Doing:
Designing electrical schematics, wiring layouts & control panels (AutoCAD/EPLAN)
Working alongside mechanical & software teams on PLC/HMI integration
Ensuring compliance with IEC 60204, ISO 13849, BS7671
Supporting testing, troubleshooting and production builds
Working with LV (Apply online only)
V) and ELV (24V) systems
What You'll Bring:
HNC/HND (or above) in Electrical Engineering
Electrical design experience within machinery / automation
AutoCAD or EPLAN proficiency
Solid understanding of PLCs, HMIs & motor control
Desirable
Experience with Mitsubishi, Siemens or Allen‑Bradley PLCs
Knowledge of industrial comms:
Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS232/485
