Music Teacher

The Role

A secondary school based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire is seeking a creative and committed Music Teacher to join their department from April, initially on a long-term basis until July 2026, with the view to becoming permanent for the right candidate. You will be responsible for teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons, and contributing to performances, enrichment, and the wider life of the department.

The ability to offer Music at KS5 would be a strong advantage, but is not essential. This is a full-time position, offering a competitive day rate of £170 to £250, dependent on experience.

Music Teacher – The School

The school is a mixed secondary school serving students aged 11–18, with a strong focus on creativity, academic achievement, and student engagement. The school promotes a positive learning environment supported by clear behaviour systems and a collaborative staff culture. The Music department is well-resourced and valued within the school community, offering students a range of opportunities to develop their musical skills both in and out of the classroom.

Staff benefit from supportive leadership, strong professional development, and the opportunity to progress into a permanent role.
