Behaviour Mentor

GSL Education is recruiting confident and empathetic Behaviour Mentors to support students in Sawbridgeworth who need additional guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom.

As a Behaviour Mentor
, you’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to build trust and consistency for pupils who find mainstream learning challenging. You’ll support de‑escalation strategies, provide emotional coaching, and promote positive routines throughout the school day.

• Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support
• Develop and maintain behaviour support plans
• Encourage positive communication and coping strategies
• Monitor progress and liaise with SENCO and families
• Create a safe, structured environment that promotes success

• Prior experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Patient, calm, and resilient personality
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
