ACR are currently working alongside a growing groundwork and civils contractor based in Sawbridgeworth, Essex, delivering high-quality groundwork and civil engineering packages across Essex, Hertfordshire, and North London. Their projects range from residential developments and commercial schemes to infrastructure and enabling works.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple groundwork packages from pre-contract through to final account.
Key responsibilities- Managing costs across groundworks packages (foundations, drainage, roads & sewers, infrastructure works).
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations.
- Variations management and change control.
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Cost reporting and forecasting.
- Preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Liaising with clients, site managers and external consultants.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Has 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor (groundworks or civil engineering essential)
- Has experience working for a contractor or specialist subcontractor
- Is commercially aware and confident managing their own projects
- Has strong negotiation and communication skills
- Holds a relevant degree or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
