Overview
Social Care Worker - Personal Care Assistant / Personal Assistant
Details- Hours - 6 hours per week, evenings and weekends, during term time and 10 hours per week during school holidays.
- Salary - £18 per hour, paid every 4 weeks.
- Location – Bishopbriggs
- PVG Scheme membership required by successful applicant. The cost of joining the scheme/ the initial update will be covered by the employer; upkeep of the PVG is the responsibility of the Personal Care Assistant.
- As a Personal Assistant to our 8-year-old autistic, non-verbal son, your role would be to enable him to be more independent and empower him to achieve greater autonomy in his daily life.
- Part of your role would be to escort him to leisure or other appropriate social/recreational activities providing supervision and guidance to ensure safety.
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a personal vehicle would be essential.
- You would be assisting with daily tasks to ensure the comfort and well-being of our son (including help with some aspects of personal care) as well as managing and responding to challenging behaviours with sensitivity.
- You would also be expected to be able to respond to any medical emergency as required.
- Epilepsy training would be preferred.
