Job Summary
A vacancy has arisen within the Surgery Care Group for a motivated and enthusiastic person to support the unit managers in a junior leadership role within the Endoscopy Services as a band 6 clinical sister/charge nurse on the Bishop Auckland site. The service is undergoing phased development with opportunities for growth.
The successful applicant will be an experienced Endoscopy Practitioner (NMC registered) with leadership skills and knowledge at band 5 level, seeking to develop leadership and service improvement skills.
Responsibilities- Work with the Endoscopy team to deliver high-quality care within a comprehensive clinical governance framework.
- Promote excellence in nursing practice and empower staff to develop high levels of clinical skill; lead from the front.
- Deputise in day-to-day management of the unit in the absence of the band 7.
- Collaborate with senior nursing, medical and management colleagues; provide support to the band 7, Matron and General Management team to develop the endoscopy MDT.
- Demonstrate knowledge of JAG requirements; lead audit and ensure delivery of JAG standards.
- Deliver a wide range of governance processes to each department to ensure first-class care for service users.
- Provide on-call support and work clinically to support Endoscopy services.
