• Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• Conduct a daily check to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle, along with its cleanliness.
• Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel are taken for the day’s work.
• Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and safely return them to the branch as instructed by branch management.
• Ensure damages or breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly, with due regard to special procedures for Hazchem’s.
• Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• Help maintain good customer relations.
• Be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
• Some UK travel, including occasional overnight stays, may be required occasionally.

• Full UK LGV Class 2 (C) licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Strong communication and customer care skills.
• Compliance with Health and Safety standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in route planning is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
• A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven must be held.
• All drivers must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
• We assess the risk of employing applicants with points on their licence; this may affect short‑listing decisions.
• Existing employees must update fleet services with any changes to their licence status (e.g. points, driving bans).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Intermediate numeracy and literacy.

• Full driving licence required.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by management to support the transport team and business operations.
• Flexibility may be required.

• Previous experience of multi‑drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
