Job Description & How to Apply Below

YMCA Heart of England is a Christian charity providing a range of life-changing services for the local community. With a turnover of over £4m, we house over 300 young people, most of whom were previously homeless, and support them to get their lives back on track. We also care for pre-school children in our nursery and run various social enterprises to create employment and generate income for our charitable work.

With over 100 Staff and volunteers working for thousands of people and us using our many premises every year, we are an organisation committed to delivering the best possible service to our customers in line with our Christian ethos and values.

We are recruiting for a Life Coach to join our team on a full‑time, permanent contract. You will be based predominantly in Aston, Birmingham.

You will be required to effectively access and implement a programme of support within the Adult Social Care framework. You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks, ranging from assisting in the processing and assessment of applications to be housed at the scheme to void checks. It will also involve supporting the team to deliver a high‑quality rent collection and arrears recovery service, whilst ensuring accurate records are kept on each tenant using our internal support and housing management system.

You will need the ability to handle resident issues, such as anti‑social behaviour.

To excel in this role, you will need experience in housing management or supported housing and income management or debt recovery/collection (preferably in a social housing environment), and a working knowledge of housing issues and legislation, particularly about homelessness. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, question and influence when needed.
