Role Overview - Housing Support Officer

Lewisham Council is seeking a proactive and community-focused Housing Support Officer to assist residents by collecting, verifying, and processing key housing paperwork. The role plays a vital part in ensuring Arabic-speaking tenants receive clear, compassionate communication and practical assistance when accessing housing services.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect and process housing paperwork and verification documents.

Support Arabic-speaking clients with translations and housing guidance.

Conduct home visits and liaise with vulnerable tenants.

Maintain accurate digital and paper-based records.

Collaborate with Housing Officers and Case Managers to ensure compliance.

Essential Requirements:

Fluent in Arabic and English (verbal and written).

Previous housing, support, or community experience.

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Full UK driving licence and access to a car
