Role OverviewAs a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. You will work closely with our service department to deliver outstanding customer service, maintaining the high standards Paul Rigby Ltd is known for. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine servicing and repairs on a variety of vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
- Perform safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet all legal and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work carried out, including parts used and labour time.
- Work collaboratively with the service team to ensure timely and efficient vehicle turnaround.
- Provide clear and professional communication with customers regarding vehicle issues and repairs.
- Keep up to date with new vehicle technology and industry developments through training and continuous professional development.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or Automotive Engineering.
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use diagnostic tools effectively.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems and mechanical components.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development as required.
