Our workshop is looking for a candidate to enrol on a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician apprenticeship programme working with us as a HGV Apprentice Technician.

Our candidate will ideally have a minimum of 3 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above but more important is that they have a ton of enthusiasm and a willingness to achieve a level 2 Functional Skills qualification in Maths and English if not already gained alongside the apprenticeship.

Training will be provided in our workshop, alongside skilled technicians, and regular block release training.

Our technicians are part of a highly skilled workforce that is committed to quality. The Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician apprenticeship programme gives apprentices the chance to work on some of the most modern, sophisticated trucks on the road.

The programme is a government approved ‘traditional’ Apprentice Scheme that combines hands‑on workshop training with block release attendance for college training and study.

All apprentices are will work alongside qualified technicians. Regular visits will be made by the Programme Assessor to ensure that training is effective, progress is satisfactory and that the apprentice is actually enjoying the work. Apprentices are employed on a permanent basis with recognised terms and conditions of employment.

On course completion apprentices will be recognised with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair which will include VCQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and will continue to work with us as a qualified technician.

With extensive high‑quality workshop facilities, H.W. Martin Fleet Maintenance Limited provide maintenance solutions to the H.W. Martin Group fleet of nearly 1000 vehicles and equipment whilst also servicing the DAF network as a parts and service agent, we also have a long‑standing list of commercial customers. The reliable and proactive service offered is widely recognised as being industry leading.
