Connection Operative – Developer Services

We’re looking for a Connection Operative to join the Developer Services team in the West Midlands area. The role involves installing water connections, delivering customer service, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Provide dependable customer service within set timescales.
• Safely install infrastructure assets – pipes & fittings.
• Use a range of innovative technologies and equipment to ensure connections are completed on time.
• Communicate clearly with customers, explain the purpose of visits and provide up-to-date timescales for follow‑on work.
• Respond to on‑site customer service issues, escalating as appropriate.
• Promote a safe working environment and uphold quality standards.
• Exercise health & safety judgment and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and company standards.
• Mentor and train new trainees as required.

• Full driving licence.
• NRSWA training and a Mini Digger qualification.
• Valid Blue Card.
• Work experience in the water / utilities industry with understanding of connections.
• Strong customer face‑to‑face communication skills.
• Physically fit, able to work outdoors in all weathers.
• Positive attitude, flexibility and openness to change initiatives.
