Our client, a leading distributor of stainless steel and aluminium flat rolled products, is looking to appoint a driven and ambitious Business Development Manager to support their continued growth across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on building strong relationships, identifying new opportunities, and winning new business within the metals industry.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the company’s customer base while developing long term partnerships with clients.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
- Build and maintain strong, long term relationships with new customers.
- Promote the company’s range of stainless steel flat rolled products to customers, targeting predominantly stockholders and some end user clients.
- Manage the full sales process from lead generation through to closing business, with support from the internal back office team.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service and smooth order processing and delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipelines, and customer engagement using internal systems.
- Represent the business professionally within the market and during customer meetings.
- Liaise with the back office support team who will assist with quotations, order processing, and administrative tasks.
- Previous sales or business development experience within the metals industry, specifically flat rolled stainless steel, is essential.
- Experience aluminium flat rolled products would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to generate new business and build strong customer relationships.
- Self motivated and driven with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a national territory.
