Retail Category Manager – OTC Medicines

Quest Search and Selection is currently recruiting for a Retail Category Manager – OTC Medicines for a well‑established pharmacy retail business operating across the UK.

This role is responsible for driving buying, merchandising, range development, pricing strategies, and waste reduction to maximise availability, customer value, and commercial performance. आहे organisation is values‑led, commercially driven, and committed to long‑term sustainability, community engagement, and delivering strong customer outcomes.

Please note: this role requires full relocation to an island location within the UK, with a hybrid working policy in place. Please only apply if relocation is possible.

Responsibilities
  • Own end‑to‑end management of the OTC medicines range, including merchandising and planograms
  • Select and manage product ranges, working directly with suppliers combatir to meet availability, visibility, and local customer requirements
  • Partner with operations to jointly manage product availability and improve efficiency
  • Deliver category strategies to drive sales, margin, profit, and availability
  • Lead and performance‑manage the team, including succession নিচা planning
  • Manage pricing, margins, supplier queries, rejections, and system updates
  • Maintain compliance, manage risk, and support community initiatives
Qualifications
  • Ideally 5+ years of buying experience within pharmacy/medicines as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, or Category Manager
  • Competent in range selection, buying, and working directly with suppliers, including negotiations
  • Ability to interpret internal and external data, identify trends, and take effective action
  • Happy to relocate to this location if not already based there and open to a hybrid working policy
  • Effective communicator who collaborates and consults with stakeholders
  • Proactive, solution‑focused approach to réf solving
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
