Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer

Precision Engineering High-Tolerance Manufacturing

A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector with CMM programming capability to support its quality function within a high-precision environment.

The Role

This role involves carrying out inspection activities across incoming, in-process and final inspection, alongside programming and operating CMMs using Metro logic and Metrosoft software. You will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect precision components using manual and CMM inspection methods

  • Program, set and run CMMs using Metro logic and Metrosoft

  • Interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T)

  • Complete first-off, in-process and final inspection reports

  • Ensure accurate completion of quality documentation and records

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions where required

  • Maintain calibration awareness and inspection equipment care

  • Promote and maintain quality and continuous improvement standards

  • Support and guide production teams on quality requirements

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience as a Quality Inspector within a precision machining environment

  • Proven CMM programming experience using Metro logic and/or Metrosoft

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Good understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques

  • High attention to detail and strong documentation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in aerospace or similarly regulated sectors

  • Knowledge of GD&T

  • Experience with FAIRs and customer quality documentation
