Locum Veterinary Surgeon

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Locum Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Birmingham on an ongoing basis. This position offers a flexible working week of 4-5 days with no out-of-hours or weekend requirements, providing a great work-life balance. The ideal candidate will be confident in both medical and surgical cases, working within a supportive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform consultations, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of small animal cases.
• Carry out routine and emergency surgeries as required.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear advice on treatment plans and post-operative care.
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure high standards of care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent) with current registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
• Experience in both small animal medicine and surgery.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Strong clinical decision‑making skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Competitive daily rate of £400 per day.
• Flexible work schedule of 4-5 days per week.
• Ongoing role with the opportunity to extend based on performance and practice needs.
