Are you an enthusiastic Paediatric nurse looking to start or advance your nursing career then UHB? We are a busy regional HIV service that manages the care of children and young people requiring support for their long-term HIV condition. This includes testing and support to babies born to women with known maternal infections.
Our children and young people HIV service includes close MDT working with Paediatric/ Adult Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists, Specialist Pharmacists, dietitians, OT and psychologists.
Our Paediatric service is ran by a friendly, dynamic, talented team of professionals; we deliver high quality, compassionate care to children, young people and their families. We strive to provide a positive patient experience in a safe environment and we actively promote a family centred approach in the delivery of care.
This vacancy is for a 1 day per week (Monday) role predominantly supporting our paediatric and young persons outpatient clinics.

Main duties of the jobAs a Band 5 Nurse working in the HIV service, you will join an established MDT who provide care to Infants, children and young people and families. We promote a holistic approach to nursing and collaborate closely with parents, carers and their children when planning and delivering care and treatment.
As a staff nurse you will practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for delivering safe, compassionate, person centred, evidence-based nursing care that respects and maintains dignity and human rights. You will be responsible for the smooth running of outpatient clinics, health promotion to patients and their families and support for those living with a long term condition.
You will engage with patients and support them with self-management strategies and signpost to appropriate support services. You will identify vulnerable patients requiring safeguarding or psychological support.
You will work in accordance with Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines and adhere to the NMC Code at all times.
You will practice in a holistic, non-judgmental, caring and compassionate manner that avoids assumptions, supports social inclusion and recognises and respects individual choice and acknowledges diversity.
We are looking for a nurse who has a positive attitude, can work independently and as part of a team and is motivated to deliver compassionate care whilst developing professionally.
