Paint Technician - Robotics

Birmingham
Full-Time - Monday to Friday

Shift: 10pm-6am*

We are looking for an experienced Paint Technician (Robotics) to join a well‑established automotive and plastics manufacturer based in Birmingham. This role focuses on operating and maintaining automated paint robots to ensure consistent, high‑quality finishes on precision‑manufactured components.

Key Responsibilities

Operating and adjusting robotic paint systems to achieve optimal coverage and finish
Setting up paint parameters, flow rates, spray patterns, and curing requirements
Monitoring robotic spraying operations and performing manual touch‑ups where required
Performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of robotic equipment
Identifying paint defects and taking corrective action
Preparing components prior to painting (masking, cleaning, pre‑treatment)
Ensuring production targets are met within quality standards
Following health & safety procedures within the spray booth and robotics area
Collaborating with production and quality teams to improve processes

Requirements

Previous experience working with robotic paint systems is essential
Background in automotive, plastics, or precision manufacturing preferred
Strong understanding of paint processes, coatings, and surface preparation
Ability to troubleshoot robotic equipment and adjust programming parameters
Excellent attention to detail and quality‑driven approach
Confident working independently on a night shift
Reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards

Night

Shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am
Monday to Friday (full-time)
