Bare Metal Platform Engineer | Remote | Inside IR35 | Major end client | 10 months initially

A large consultancy we are working with are hiring for a senior engineer to transform our global x86 estate into a fully automated Bare Metal as a Service (BMaaS) platform. This role focuses on abstracting hardware into a code driven service layer, integrating vendor tooling with orchestration and compliance automation.

What You’ll Do

Build automation across

Lenovo XClarity | Dell Open Manage | HPE One View

Integrate hardware provisioning with

Ansible | Terraform

Export hardware telemetry into

Open Telemetry | Prometheus
Orchestrate DDI (DHCP/DNS/IPAM), PXE workflows, and integrate with Service Now for automated break‑fix and tracking.
Define and programmatically enforce BIOS, RAID, NIC, and firmware "golden baselines."
Deliver automated audit trails and Real Time state reporting.

Key Skills and Experience

Dell Power Edge
HPE Pro Liant
Lenovo Think System
Redfish, IPMI, and SNMP
Ansible or Terraform
Solid Python or Bash Scripting
Understanding of DDI services and PXE/iPXE
Experience in audit-driven environments
