An exciting opportunity to join a company which is home to some of the UK’s most loved confectionery and snack foods. They are looking for a Packaging Process Development Manager to join their R&D department on a 12 month contract.
Role PurposeLead and execute process development projects to implement new products, manufacturing and technology changes, and C for the factory. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to deliver sustained improvements in process consistency, efficiency and consumer satisfaction. Lead the technical support function for the site to ensure rapid deployment of resource and expertise, keeping manufacturing lines running to required operational standards and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Lead and execute specific process development projects to implement new products, manufacturing, and technology change and C for the factory.
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives which deliver sustained improvements in process consistency, efficiency and consumer satisfaction.
- Lead the technical support function for the site to ensure rapid deployment of resource and expertise to keep manufacturing lines running to the required operational standards, and to the correct quality standards.
- Generate effective and timely delivery of C and NPD critical to transforming the client’s competitive position and maintaining high quality and efficiency across existing portfolio.
- Support geographical expansion by leveraging skills, know‑how and products across the Group to develop and maintain competitive advantage, including transfer of production between factories and implementation of new production facilities.
- Play an important part in raising the technical capabilities of site‑based process teams and other functions needed to support moving toward world‑class manufacturing standards.
- Sound skills and experience in all aspects of confectionery food and snacks manufacturing, including process technology and operating methods.
- Strong technical know‑how and ability to make rapid, accurate, and appropriate decisions concerning process changes, product transfers and technical risk.
- Six Sigma/Lean Sigma accreditation at Green Belt level and a record of successful implementation of Continuous Improvement and change projects within a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles and sound project management.
