Salary: £26,000 - £27,000 / year

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:15pm, Fridays 7:30am-1pm

We are recruiting for a Cut to Length Operator also known as a Decoiling Operator, who will be responsible for operating machinery used to process coil products (stainless steel and aluminium) according to customer specifications. The role involves using overhead crane and forklift truck; with typical activities including loading and unloading coils, setting the line, in‑production inspection ensuring product quality and maintaining a safe working environment.

• Operating various cut-to-length lines
• Setting up machinery accurately to work order specifications and customer tolerances
• Maintaining production records and completing required documentation
• Operating overhead crane when authorised and in accordance with company training records
• Loading and unloading coils on a machine line safely
• Driving forklift trucks when authorised and in accordance with company training records
• Ensuring cleanliness of work areas
• Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area
• Reporting quality, damage, shortages and overages
• Wearing mandatory PPE at all times
• Maintaining all metal traceability systems
• Recycling metal scrap and packaging waste into correct bins
• Reporting any damage, shortage and overages to the Operations Manager

• Overhead crane licence
• Forklift truck licence (B1 or above)
• Good team player
• Digitally competent
• Attention to detail skills

• Previously used micrometre and vernier callipers
• Experience in the steel and metal industry
• 1st operator experience
