Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months (with potential extension)
Salary:
Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday (8:30am-4:30pm)
Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays
Pension:
Up to 4% employer contribution

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our Food Manufacturing site in Birmingham. This is a key, hands‑on role within the Site Management Team, reporting directly to the Group Health & Safety Manager.
You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal standards across the site, working closely with colleagues across all departments. This is a varied and fast‑paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor and influencing positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements are implemented and maintained on site
- Support and work closely with the Group Health & Safety Manager on site and group‑wide initiatives
- Carry out risk assessments, audits, inspections, and accident investigations
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across all departments
- Provide guidance, advice, and training to managers and employees
- Monitor compliance, report on performance, and drive continuous improvement
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
- Occasional travel within the UK to other company sites and customer offices will be required
- Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing desirable)
- NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a changing workload
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels
- Good IT skills; SAP knowledge would be advantageous
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with a positive, can‑do attitude
- Flexibility to travel occasionally within the UK
