Overview
We are seeking a skilled Assembler & MIG Welder to join a specialist manufacturing team producing heavy-duty mechanical and hydraulic equipment. The role includes assembling engineered components, fabricating steel structures, and carrying out high-quality MIG welding to support the build of industrial and vehicle-mounted systems.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical engineering work, values precision, and can work confidently across both welding and mechanical assembly tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on mild steel components to a high standard.
Assemble large mechanical components, hydraulic units, sub‑frames, and fabricated structures.
Work accurately from technical drawings, schematics, and build instructions.
Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
Carry out fitting, bolting, drilling, grinding, and general fabrication tasks.
Ensure all welds and assemblies meet required quality standards.
Collaborate with production teams to maintain build schedules.
Maintain a safe, organised working environment and follow all health & safety procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven MIG welding experience in an engineering, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical assembly abilities.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Competent using workshop tools and equipment.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience with heavy vehicle bodies, hydraulic equipment, or industrial machinery.
Welding or mechanical engineering qualifications.
Forklift or overhead crane experience.
