About the Role
We are looking for a CNC Miller / Machinist with strong Hurco experience and a solid understanding of CNC programming logic for a precision engineering workshop in Birmingham.
This role is ideal for someone who knows their way around Hurco controls, can load and edit programs confidently, and has a technical mindset — someone who doesn’t need hand-holding and gets the job done.
Key Responsibilities
* Program, set up and operate CNC milling machines (Hurco experience essential)
* Interpret engineering drawings and work to specification
* Use Fanuc and other controls confidently — the broader your control experience, the stronger your application
* Make informed decisions on program edits and tooling adjustments
* Work independently with responsibility and ownership of your work
* Maintain quality standards and clean workshop practices
* Collaborate effectively with the team
Skills & Experience
* Good CNC machining background
* Understanding of CNC programming logic — even if you’re not writing every program from scratch
* Proficiency in Solid Works or other CAD/CAM software beneficial
* Strong English communication — must understand instructions clearly
* Reliable, honest, and hardworking attitude
* Confidence to work on your own and with the team

You’ll be joining a well-established precision machining and fabrication business based in Birmingham’s B7 area, specialising in precision CNC machining and bespoke engineering work across a range of materials and industry requirements.
