Job Overview

Toolmaker – Castle Bromwich, JLR. Salary: £44,925. Posting dates: 09/01/2026 – 23/01/2026. The role involves a rotating shift pattern, including nights.

Optimise current tooling activities, including Corrective, Preventative maintenance, Engineering Changes and Quality Improvements. Participate in “Try out” activities on press lines and support production teams across the shop, including the Blanking line.

• Carrying out scheduled Preventative Maintenance activities
• Supporting and driving performance on all press and blanking lines – die related
• Engineering change activities and die modifications
• Problem solving and root‑cause analysis for reliability and quality requirements
• Machining background would be advantageous
• Die movements using overhead cranes with die weights of up to 55T
• Strong Engineering / Tool making background

• Recognised Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 / C & G or similar qualification
• Experience working in a Press Tool manufacturing / maintenance environment
• Ideally, skin surface panel tooling experience in a car manufacturing industry
• Understanding of complex tooling and aluminium pressings
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights
