Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Brake Press Setter / Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment specialising in high-quality sheet metal and fabricated products. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term prospects for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming press brake machines to produce bespoke and repeat components to a high standard, working with a range of materials and thicknesses.

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate CNC press brake machines to produce precision sheet metal components
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and bending schedules
Select appropriate tooling and carry out machine setups for various jobs
Adjust and program machine parameters to meet quality and dimensional requirements
Work with materials such as mild steel, aluminium, and stainless steel
Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks during production
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety standards
Meet production targets while maintaining high quality and accuracy
Report any machine faults, quality issues, or material discrepancies
Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow

Requirements

Proven experience as a press brake setter/operator (CNC preferred)
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and organisational skills
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Desirable (But Not Essential)

Experience with Amada, Trumpf, or similar CNC press brake machines
Basic programming experience
Background in architectural metalwork or fabrication
