Company OverviewSkills for Care is the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England. We work with employers, government and partners to ensure social care has the right people, skills and support required to deliver the highest quality care and support now and in the future.
About the RoleInternally we call this role Product and Proposition Manager
. The above job title is used for external advertising purposes. As part of our new corporate strategy, we are strengthening and expanding our commercial offer over the next five years to better support the adult social care sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong commercial background – whether in commercial proposition development, consulting, or strategy – who is motivated to bring those skills into a charity environment where the impact is tangible.
As Proposition Manager, you will play a central role in shaping how new ideas become viable, valuable offers for the market. You will bring structure, commercial thinking and customer insight to decisions about what Skills for Care develops, grows, evolves or stops. Your focus will be on the commercial design of propositions: understanding customer needs, defining value, shaping pricing and commercial models, and building robust business cases.
Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will help ensure that what we bring to market is commercially viable, clearly positioned, and aligned with customer value and organisational priorities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, insight and delivery – turning ideas into clear propositions and helping an organisation make confident, evidence‑based decisions about where to invest and grow.
Equality, Diversity and InclusionAt Skills for Care, we are committed to creating a culture of belonging, where all our people can contribute to their full potential. All our people are expected to contribute towards the achievement of our aspirations for equality, equity, diversity and inclusion. We want our people to be representative of the society we support, including all equality characteristics such as age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief.
We encourage applications from, but not limited to, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities. Candidates will always be selected based on experience and potential.
We want all applicants to be able to fully participate in our selection processes. We welcome requests for adjustments to our recruitment and selection processes from applicants with disabilities, impairments or health conditions, and will always consider support available in the recruitment process. Please contact our People Team via email to discuss any adjustments that you may need.
