We are seeking a proactive Head of International Admissions to lead the delivery of a high‑quality admissions service for international applicants.
Role InformationReporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, you will lead a UK‑based and overseas admissions team to ensure applications are processed efficiently, accurately, and with a strong focus on the applicant experience. You will use data and sector insight to drive operational improvements, optimise resources, and develop responsive admissions practices aligned with institutional goals and the evolving global education landscape.
Main Activities and Responsibilities- Setting the offer strategy for international admissions
- Leading and developing Admissions Managers across UK and overseas teams
- Managing the processing of international applications, ensuring timely decisions and regulatory compliance
- Using admissions data to monitor performance, plan resources, and make operational improvements
- Driving continuous improvement to enhance workflows, efficiency, and the applicant experience
- Developing clear processes and policies to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery
- Working with academic schools and senior leaders on volumes, turnaround times, conversion rates, and key performance metrics
- Supporting recruitment strategies through responsive, applicant‑centred admissions practices
- Working closely with the Compliance team to align CAS issuing and international admissions processes
- Experience working with UKVI admissions requirements
- Experience managing admissions processes in higher education or a regulated environment
- Proven experience leading teams and supporting staff performance and development
- Strong knowledge of UK and international qualifications, entry requirements, and admissions regulations
- Ability to manage high volumes of applications, data, and communications accurately
- Experience applying admissions policies and resolving complex or borderline decisions
- Confident use of digital admissions systems (e.g. CRM, student records systems)
- Experience working collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues
- Ability to prioritise workload and deliver under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Experience of contextual admissions or widening participation recruitment
- Experience developing admissions policy, processes, or systems in a higher education setting
