Location: Home‑based with regular UK-wide travel

A respected national association is seeking a truly commercial Managing Director to guide its next phase of Member‑centred development
. This is a prominent leadership role for someone who can embody the organisation’s values, strengthen its influence, and cultivate a connected, engaged membership community.

• Serve as the organisation’s public representative, championing Members across the sector.
• Build trusted relationships with Members, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and valued.
• Shape and deliver a modern, Member‑focused strategy aligned with long‑term sustainability.
• Enhance the organisation’s visibility, credibility, and impact through confident external engagement.
• Oversee governance, financial stability, and operational excellence.
• Lead and inspire the Senior Team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.

• Senior leadership experience within a membership body, trade association, or related environment.
• Strong public presence with the ability to act as a credible figurehead.
• Exceptional relationship‑building skills and emotional intelligence.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance income generation and Member value.
• Confident communicator, comfortable in media, events, and stakeholder settings.
