Head of Sales - Industrial capital equipment

Our client is a household brand and market leading capital equipment manufacturer that provide a range of state of the art / innovative commercial cleaning machines. Their customers heavily rely on their products and associated services as they offer cleaning equipment to companies' across a multitude of sectors including transport & logistics, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, facilities management and the public sector.

The Role of Head of Sales
  • As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for the total sales performance and day to day management of the Field Sales Team.
  • You will set the overall Field Sales Strategy and manage the Sales Force Effectiveness KPIs of the teams you manage.
  • You will be responsible for a team of 5 Regional Sales Managers who in turn will each manage 5 field sales Business Development Managers.
  • The route to market will cover both direct sales and sales via Regional Dealer Partners across the UK.
  • As Head of Sales you will also manage and build relationships at Senior Director level and proactively lead by example in supporting the account management and new business activities.
  • You will be anexpert in the strategic management of Dealer Accounts and coach, support and train the team in direct sales management principles and techniques.
  • Field coaching a team of Regional Sales Managers
  • Production of dealer development plans and monthly reporting on performance and plan execution.
  • Management of the Sales Force Effectiveness Programme across the UK Sales Team.
  • Set annual sales and margin budgets for each Regional Team in line with company expectations.
  • Being accountable for the profit performance of the Regional Business managing costs and improving top line performance.
  • Supporting in face-to-face Dealer visits to provide coaching guidance to both RSMs and BDMs.
  • To grow and manage pipeline based on sales budget and defined performance goals.
  • Effective performance management of Regional Sales Teams.
  • Analysing regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
  • To prepare and review the annual budget for the area of responsibility. Forecast quarterly and annual sales and profits.

The Candidate
  • Field Sales Management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of managing deadlines and customer expectations
  • Able to demonstrate key achievements within a similar role
    - Desirable
  • Project management and Commercial planning experience
    - Desirable
  • A self-motivated, confident and driven individual who is excellent at communicating
  • Full UK Driving License and overseas travel
