Position: Strategic Workforce Planning Modeller - Senior Manager - 6m FTC

Overview

Strategic Workforce Planning Modeller - Senior Manager - 6m FTC at PwC UK, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. The role focuses on aligning workforce capabilities and capacity with the firm’s medium to long-term objectives and designing a coherent, prioritised portfolio of talent interventions to mitigate workforce risk and future‑proof the business.

As the Strategic Workforce Planning Senior Manager in the Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will spearhead firmwide connectivity in planning through the creation and management of comprehensive business processes and tools. You will forecast to identify gaps between future workforce demand and supply and leverage this analysis to manage strategies to buy, build, or borrow talent to meet organisational objectives. The CoE aggregates data for workforce planning and is driven by stakeholder engagement and leadership across each line of service to ensure collaboration and alignment.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively set up a firmwide, skills-based approach to workforce planning. Facilitate reviews and tools while leveraging global leading practice technology to ensure robust, forward-thinking workforce strategies. Establish Line of Service (LoS) aligned business processes for strategic workforce planning and partner with each Workforce Strategy Specialist to optimise processes for each LoS.
  • Identify risks and opportunities in SWP technology by capturing internal and external market intelligence. Provide actionable insights and best practice delivery through the operating model, and integrate workforce plans with talent acquisition and development plans at a firmwide level to ensure strategic capability building and appropriate headcount management.
  • Actively monitor and adapt to changes in business and financial planning or strategic change programmes. Ensure these changes are incorporated into predictive modelling and workforce planning processes. Partner with the firmwide strategy team to analyse future demand based on growth drivers and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain proactive methods for analysing workforce planning factors; identify, highlight, and anticipate issues and opportunities, establishing principles for predictive analytics around supply and demand (e.g. attrition, organisational movement, agility).
  • Collaborate with the business to produce actionable workforce plans that forecast resourcing requirements aligned with business objectives, and articulate the necessary actions to achieve these resource levels.
What You’ll Need
  • You have extensive experience in proactive workforce planning within large, complex organisations, with emphasis on identifying risks and driving transformation.
  • You possess expertise in implementing cutting-edge tools, technologies, and predictive analytics to enhance strategic decision-making in workforce planning.
  • You have proven experience in partnering with project management and central planning teams, ensuring alignment of workforce plans with overarching long-term and short-term objectives.
  • You demonstrate strong business acumen; deep understanding of business strategy and drivers of organisational performance, including KPIs and business cases, leveraging external benchmarks for informed decision-making.
  • You have advanced analytical reasoning; adept at identifying workforce insights, developing hypotheses, and recommending data and analytical products that address these needs.
  • You have exceptional impact and influence skills; ability to manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, build compelling cases for change using data-driven insights, and influence senior stakeholders. An agile, forward-thinking mindset to anticipate and adapt to changes and align strategies accordingly.
