Our TeamThe Commercial team is split into five work streams – Strategic Contracts, Technology, Intellectual Property, Data Privacy and Retail Finance. We are recruiting an Associate to join our Commercial team in Birmingham, focusing on Strategic Contracts.
Role AndKey Responsibilities
- Advising a national team on a wide range of matters from high value, long term strategic arrangements to day‑to‑day business‑as‑usual matters and standard form contracts.
- Working with a wide range of private and public sector businesses across transport, utilities and industrial engineering on a local, national and international level.
- Providing commercial support for transactions undertaken by our corporate and real estate teams.
- Developing close working relationships with colleagues in different teams and offices throughout the business, learning from partners.
- Participating in structured business development activity, including writing client briefings and articles.
2‑4 years PQE with a solid foundation in contract law. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of different contract types, strong technical and drafting skills, and understanding of key legal, commercial and operational issues. Knowledge of specialist support matters (e.g. TUPE, data protection, competition law) is expected. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication across cultures and business development activity.
