• Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
• Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Service key producers and clients through an engaged programme of proactive external visitation, monitoring business acquisition and retention, and maximizing cross‑selling opportunities.
• Assist in formulating and implementing underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability.
• Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility.
• Assist with development of products within specialist areas to improve client retention and new business, collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe and globally.
• Meet company standards for policy documentation, quotation time frames and compliance issues.
• Manage junior colleagues, providing mentoring, training and coaching to maintain a high‑quality underwriting team.
• Allocate resources to meet business objectives.

• Considerable market experience.
• ACII preferred.
• Continuously develop technical and broader business skills.
• Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of corporate underwriting, the insurance market and competitors.
• Solid experience dealing with brokers and clients.
• Results‑driven with the ability to make independent decisions and work on own initiative.
• Recognized as an experienced professional externally.
• Experience of leadership, training, mentoring and people development preferred but not essential.
