SAP Basis Administrator - Birmingham - Contract

6-month initial contract duration

This role requires hybrid working from Birmingham but may involve travel to other sites and third party suppliers.

SAP Basis Administrator required for a leading customer based in Birmingham to manage life cycle of Linux services and SAP HANA databases, as well as providing support to the wider SAP team.

• Oversee the day-to-day administration, configuration, and maintenance of SAP HANA database environments to ensure stability and reliability.
• Continuously monitor system performance, analyse workload trends, and implement tuning strategies to optimise efficiency and scalability.
• Plan, execute, and validate backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity.
• Project and Security Compliance tasks
• Collaborate closely with the SAP functional and technical teams, providing expert guidance and operational support.
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, capacity constraints, replication failures, and other data integrity concerns.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL framework
• Maintain adherence to database vendor licensing requirements and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
• Lead incident and problem management activities, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
• Contribute to project delivery efforts and enforce security, governance, and compliance standards across database environments.
