Our client is looking for an experienced Test Manager to lead quality assurance across a broad and complex IT environment. You will oversee the full testing lifecycle for applications, infrastructure, and data platforms, working with internal teams and external delivery partners to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain test strategies and plans across multiple IT projects.
  • Lead and support a team of test analysts, providing direction and guidance.
  • Promote continuous improvement and expand the use of automated testing.
  • Manage test preparation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Put in place test governance processes and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with third‑party suppliers to align testing approaches.
  • Oversee test environments and test data requirements.
  • Track test metrics and KPIs to monitor quality and release readiness.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • Act as the main escalation point for testing‑related challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational and industry best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years in software testing, including 3+ years in a Test Manager role.
  • Experience working across complex IT environments (applications, infrastructure, data platforms).
  • Knowledge of functional and non‑functional testing (performance, security, DR, etc.).
  • Comfortable working with multiple vendors and delivery partners.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project methods.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman) and CI/CD processes.
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication and relationship management.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams under pressure.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across different projects.
  • Confident using test and defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, Test Rail, ALM).
  • Experience in transport, travel, or logistics is an advantage (not essential).
