An opportunity has arisen at a major international bank for the role of Head of Data Governance. This position, based in London, involves advancing the client's data management capabilities throughout the EMEA region while also supporting global initiatives. The primary responsibilities include implementing strategic data governance programs to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with the client's global standards. Key initiatives include the Data Maturity Enhancement 3-Year Plan aimed at elevating data governance maturity levels, the BCBS
239 Compliance Project to ensure consistent regulatory compliance, and preparing for ECB requirements by implementing robust data governance for regulatory reports mandated by the ECB.
This role requires leading teams to implement data governance across all Key Data Use Cases within the EMEA region, establishing robust frameworks for data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency. The Head of Data Governance will collaborate with various global and regional teams to meet data governance requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. They will also support the development of the Global Coordination Centre, contribute to the creation and maintenance of a Data Management Framework, and manage the budget and resources to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The successful candidate will engage with senior stakeholders, regulators, and supervisory authorities to provide transparency on data governance initiatives, and participate in designing data solutions to comply with regional policies and standards.
