Our Digital Project Managers use a range of skills and methodologies, managing multi-functional delivery teams to deliver change, maintain our core applications and deliver new services that support the lives of millions of people.

We have many exciting opportunities for you to join us at DWP Digital, you will join a flourishing, supportive delivery community delivering some of the largest digital transformations in Europe.

You’ll take ownership of full projects or parts of large-scale programmes, ensuring delivery was to agreed parameters of quality, time and cost, ensuring appropriate governance is followed.

For example, plans, risks, issues and dependencies with effective escalation where necessary, owning them until they are resolved.

You’ll track and manage project progress and budget, providing helpful and accurate reporting to more senior project managers and/or governance boards.

Actively managing change and governance for your projects, taking all cross-project impacts into account.

You’ll manage team dynamics, encouraging collaboration and shared ownership throughout the team.

Deal with conflict and help establish a positive team culture.

You’ll build and manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams and suppliers, proactively identifying risks and issues and managing these.

You’ll communicate consistently across internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messages to ensure that it is right for the audience and consistent with broader project/digital messaging.

You’ll take responsibility for your own learning and development, continuously improving knowledge and skills in principles, methods, and tools as well as coaching and mentor Associates, identifying improvements in ways of working where appropriate.

We have opportunities in the following teams:
Digital Debt Team (based in the Leeds and Manchester Digital hub locations) We recover debt efficiently by building & continually optimising industry leading Digital solutions that empower DWP operational teams and enables customers to manage and pay back any debt owing to DWP while protecting the most vulnerable.

The current platform supports recoveries of £2.8 billion a year and is used by several thousand agents with a replacement platform currently in discovery.

The wider Debt Programme and Projects are being delivered by multi-functional teams, in varying stages of development phases and are often complex and providing DWP with Transformational objectives.

Digital Retirement (based in all 6 regional Digital hub locations) In Digital Retirement, we are responsible for running and transforming digital services.

We ensure people over State Pension age can plan for and secure all the support they need to live a life without unnecessary hardship.

Within Digital Retirement these are some of the things you will be working on include:
Actively manage plans, risks, issues, dependencies and governance and assurance products for several of our service teams.

Track and manage project progress including budgets, providing helpful accurate reporting to Lead Delivery Managers / Deputy Director.

Work with the Lead Delivery Managers to review resourcing profiles linking to budgets and plans to ensure teams have the correct resources.

Work spaces team (based in Manchester and Sheffield Digital hub locations) Our function provides the core technology that powers the Department’s Digital Workplace, supporting citizen-facing services and colleagues across government.

As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across six distinct products:
Identity, Desktop, Assistive Technology and Projects, Workplace Computing, Mobility, and Specialist Devices.
