IT Support Analyst – Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

Join our IT Asset Management and Configuration team to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused services for staff and students.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the efficient lifecycle of IT assets.
  • Capture and record IT asset and peripheral information on the asset management system.
  • Configure laptops, desktops, mobile and Apple devices following standard procedures.
  • Prepare stock reports to ensure adequate supply for smooth service operation.
  • Securely dispose of IT assets in line with compliance policy.
  • Collaborate with the wider IT team and liaise as required.
  • Support completion of site audits to maintain an accurate asset register.
  • Check and record the return of leavers equipment.
  • Test new build images with wider IT teams.
  • Produce, review and maintain process documents.
  • Update service request tickets in a timely manner.
  • Coach and mentor other team members.
  • Follow university health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Lifting and moving of IT equipment up to 10 kg via trolleys/cages is an essential part of the job.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance services.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills are essential.
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification such as ITIL Foundation v4 desirable.
  • Experience of using a ticketing system is preferable.
  • Experience in an IT refresh environment.
  • Experience of working in a highly customer‑focused role.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate.
