This role is part of the IT & Digital 2‑Year Graduate Programme, designed to develop future technologists within West Midlands Police. Graduates will work across Architecture, Delivery and Service Management functions to build, maintain and improve the force’s digital technology stack.

• Assist in the creation of low‑level software designs for IT solutions.
• Develop new IT solutions according to design specifications and force requirements.
• Provide specialist software development expertise, focusing on M365 Power Platform, SharePoint, Power Apps, Graph API, Power Platform, Power BI and .NET.
• Guide technical delivery projects from design to delivery, offering professional advice on security, integration and performance.
• Collaborate with Service Management to transition services into the live environment and produce end‑to‑end support documentation.
• Monitor and manage third‑party supplier performance; resolve incidents and service requests.
• Maintain technical documentation to high standards and stay current with emerging tools and techniques.
• Participate in meetings, contributing to software choice decisions and policy development.
• Provide reports and recommendations for system improvements, focusing on security and integrity of development and test environments.

• A relevant degree with foundational technology skills.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into software designs.
• Experience in developing, maintaining and integrating software solutions.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Graph API, Power Platform, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
• Experience with .NET/C#, JavaScript (Angular/React), HTML/CSS, REST API and SQL (Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL).
• Familiarity with Azure, Power Shell scripting and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of ITIL processes, including Change, Release, and Incident Management.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and deliver within agreed timescales.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the capacity to influence senior colleagues.
