- Maintain sound knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidelines, CIPD codes of practice, contract law and discrimination rights, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Provide advice and support on disciplinary and grievance cases, absence management, and coach line managers to foster a positive culture and work environment.
- Manage a personal caseload of complex employee relations issues, keeping senior leadership informed of risks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and practices that align with organisational goals.
- Respond to and manage diverse situations while keeping long‑term objectives in mind and staying up to date with industry trends.
- Guide people service assistants on first‑line cases and mentor high‑potential team members.
- Apply strong negotiation skills to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes during disputes at all levels.
- Uphold confidentiality and integrity at all times.
