About the role

We’re looking for a Lead people partner to play a pivotal role within our People Team, supporting the Head of people partnering to deliver high-impact, strategic people partnerships across Sense.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HR leader to influence organisational strategy, drive transformational change, and shape workforce capability. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing expert guidance on complex people matters, and leading our HR and ER Managers to deliver a consistently high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver a proactive, high-quality strategic people partnering service to senior leaders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on complex people matters.
  • Lead and coach HR and ER Managers, ensuring consistency and excellence across the team.
  • Support organisational development and change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Lead strategic workforce planning, talent management and succession planning.
  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion across all partnered areas.
  • Use people data and insights to shape decisions and influence strategy.

About you

You’ll be an experienced, people-focused HR professional who can confidently balance strategic influence with operational leadership.

Essential requirements:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Substantial experience in a senior HR business partner or people partnering role within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted strategic advisor to senior and executive leaders.
  • Strong track record in leading organisational change, workforce planning, and talent initiatives.
  • Expert knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with sound judgement and a pragmatic approach.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the charity, not-for-profit or social care sector.
  • Experience leading organisation-wide people projects or acting as a subject-matter expert in a specialist HR area.
