Are you newly qualified or established in your career and fancy a change? We are currently looking for a Chef to join our Catering Team at the Practice Plus Hospital Birmingham, and we want to hear from you! Working 37.5 hours a week, the role is to assist the Head Chef with the management, development and delivery of all aspects of the catering service within the Hospital.
Ensuring that the preparation and presentation of food complies with the required standards and costs are controlled within budget whilst maximising the customer experience through the production of interesting and creative menus.
- Assist the Head Chef in ensuring that all equipment used in the department is in good working order and is used appropriately.
- Assist the Head Chef in ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that re-ordering of equipment and stores are in line with company policy and within department budget.
- Deputise for the Head Chef in the event of absence, planning and organising to provide an efficient and safe catering service.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with legislation and Company policies pertaining to Health and Safety, COSHH and infection control.
- Strong understanding of food safety, health and safety, COSHH and infection control regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and control catering costs within a budget.
