We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Research Nurse to join our Clinical Research Facility (CRF) team, leading the delivery of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATIMP) and Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) studies within the Trust.

, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and growing this important portfolio of studies.

The Senior Research Nurse will be responsible for identifying and delivering a portfolio of ATIMP and GMO trials within the Trust, leading, supporting, and directing staff involved in the delivery of advanced therapy research studies.
Acting as the primary point of contact for patients and their families, Investigators, Sponsors, and other internal and external research stakeholders, the post holder will ensure clear communication and coordination across all aspects of study delivery.
Working autonomously with minimal supervision, they will ensure that all research activity is conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
In addition, they will contribute to the ongoing strategic development of advanced therapies research within the Trust, helping to shape and expand this rapidly evolving area of clinical innovation.

Responsibilities include:
- In collaboration with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Lead Research Nurse, to act as an ATIMP clinical expert within the CRF, providing strong clinical leadership and direction to all staff involved in the delivery of ATIMPs.
- Lead the management, implementation and facilitation of patient pathways for advanced therapy trials in the CRF.
- Analyse and interpret complex ATIMP study protocols to determine capability and capacity requirements, and whether the trial can be included within the CRF portfolio, identifying factors which may affect the CRF's ability to deliver research in line with protocols, taking remedial action and escalating where appropriate.
- Work autonomously to plan and deliver safe and effective clinical trials involving ATIMP's and GMOs within the scope of their professional boundaries.
- To lead on the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for ATIMP delivery in the CRF.
- To lead, motivate and empower the ward team to deliver safe, high quality and effective care for children and their families in line with ATMP research protocols.
- To provide informal and formal training and education within the CRF e.g. research seminar, ATIMP competencies etc.
- Support the CRF Leadership Team with the achievement of the CRF strategy in relation to the future study portfolio and ATIMPs.
