DetailsLocation: Birmingham (full‑time, on‑site only – remote or hybrid arrangements not available)
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £37,184.91 – £43,384.62 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time)

ResponsibilitiesThe Substance Misuse Nurse role is varied: the successful candidate will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, offering specialist clinical interventions to people who use our services. The work is person‑centred, requiring a whole‑person approach, strong listening skills, clinical competence and a flexible attitude.
Your role includes:
- Undertത്തaking physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services
- Appropriate sign‑posting/referral to primary care or suitable secondary health services for identified health issues
- Providing education, health promotion and screening for blood‑borne viruses (BBV)
- Administering Hepatitis B vaccinationsəhb when indicated
- Contributing to CGL’s Naloxone Strategy
- Ensuban ensuring that procedures are regularly reviewed to promote best practice and evidence‑based practice in accordance with UK Guidelines on Clinical Management (NICE) and CGL clinical protocols
- Providing harm‑reduction advice to injecting service users, sharing information and equipment and ensuring all equipment is disposed of safely
- Recording and inputting client data and information
- We hold regular national nurse and HCA forums; you will have one‑to‑one sessions and appraisals
- We support nurses with revalidation and protected CPD time totaling up to 6 days per year
- We offer free access to the RCNi learning platform and reimburse your NMC fee
- We provide the opportunity to use the government‑backed Apprenticeship Levy fund to develop nursing practice in line with your role
