Job summary:

This advertisement presents two potential profiles—Lead Research Nurse and Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). Recruitment will result in a single appointment to one post.

We offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse with paediatric experience and expertise in early-phase clinical research to join our Clinical Research Facility (CRF), where you will take a leading role in delivering Advanced Therapy Investigational Medicinal Product (ATIMP) and Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) studies across the Trust.

Working closely with the Advanced Therapies Pharmacist and with support from the Senior Research Nurse, you will provide expert clinical, research and strategic leadership, helping to grow and sustain the Trust s advanced therapy research portfolio.

This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced therapies research, combining advanced clinical practice with leadership, education and research. Your work will contribute to the delivery of innovative, cutting-edge trials with the potential to transform outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex clinical procedures within scope of practice and in line with research protocols, undertaking training as required.
  • Support PIs and the CRF team to deliver AT research safely, effectively and to time and target.
  • Practise autonomously and deliver self-directed care for children and young people participating in AT trials.
  • Support the development and delivery of specialist AT-related teaching and training programmes across the CRF and Trust.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to grow the Trust s ATIMP portfolio.
  • Develop a sustainable ATIMP research pipeline with sufficient income to support staffing costs.
  • Support the CRF Operational Business Manager and R&D leads with business planning and securing funding for required resources.
  • Provide line management for the AT Senior Research Nurse, ensuring role effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the Trust objective to increase non-medical research through independent research and supporting others.
  • Work with established PIs as Sub-Investigator, PI or Chief Investigator, as appropriate and in line with GCP.
