Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapist

Are you dynamic, innovative and highly motivated HCPC registered Physiotherapist with experience in a broad range of therapy teams and clinical areas? We are looking for Band 6 Physiotherapists for rotational posts based at Heartlands Hospital.

This post is ideal if you are an experienced Band 5 or a Band 6 looking for new opportunities.

You will be able to develop your clinical and interdisciplinary team skills by working as part of the therapy team across various rotations – OPAL, Short Stay, HCOP, T&O, Respiratory, Stroke, Specialist Surgery, Medicals and MAU.

You will need to be an excellent team worker with knowledge across a range of therapy treatments.

Main duties of the job

To provide therapeutic assessment, management and treatment of patients in a variety of specialties at Heartlands Hospital.

Focusing interventions to a wide variety of clinical cases, applying physiotherapy knowledge. There will be a strong focus on facilitating discharges home, or to other care pathways.

You should possess excellent communication, prioritisation and organisational skills, and have experience in working in a multidisciplinary team.

Undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain associated records. Furthermore, assisting with supervision, education and co-ordination of band 5 therapists, generic therapy support workers and students.

You will be required to participate in seven‑day working and on the respiratory on‑call rota.

In return you will gain excellent clinical and leadership experience. You will also develop organisational skills and service development experience.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registered with Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Good standard of general education including GCSE Maths and English grade C and above.
  • Evidence of CPD including recent postgraduate training relevant to clinical speciality.
  • Member of specialist interest group.
  • Attendance at Clinical Educators course.
Experience
  • Demonstrates clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients within this speciality / within the NHS with experience of elderly and frail elderly, respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Experience of working on a physiotherapy on‑call service.
  • Experience of working with student physiotherapists and assistants.
  • An ability to analyse clinical and nonclinical complex facts and situations, which require the interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
  • An ability to plan, organise, formulate and adjust complex plans.
  • An ability to supervise and delegate work to physiotherapists, assistants and students.
  • It is desirable that the candidate will have had some experience within speciality area.
