To offer a psychoanalytic perspective to the work of the 0‑25 community team, providing specialist psychotherapy assessment, treatment and formulation for children, adolescents and young adults with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, carers and families. Working autonomously in line with professional guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.

To support and promote the development of services aligned to the cultural values of the service and the organisation and to behave consistently with these values. Supporting the delivery of services which are culturally sensitive, equitable, and accessible.

To provide expertise as an independent practitioner in at least one highly specialised clinical field involving complex clinical judgement.

Job responsibilities

1. CLINICAL

Ensure CYPYAF receive high quality psychotherapeutic assessment, consultation and intervention, based on clinical knowledge and expertise.

Deliver interventions that are effective, coordinated, collaborative, and delivered in accordance with the Trust values.

Receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines.

Provision of expert high quality clinical assessment, and written or verbal formulation, contributing to a coherent care plan.

Provision of psychotherapeutic interventions using appropriate therapeutic models, as part of an agreed care plan (either as the key intervention or as part of a multidisciplinary package of care) to children and young people and young adults with complex and multiple problems.

Provision of effective and proactive case management, including ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of treatment, and including the safe management of clinical risk including suicidality, and safeguarding issues, in accordance with Trust policies and sound clinical judgement.

Provide high quality consultation and advice, to the MDT and to a range of professionals working in targeted and universal settings, as directed.

To provide consultancy/advisory services in respect of psychotherapy treatments to other staff within the service and to other agencies.

Maintain appropriate case notes, care plans and correspondence in line with service and Trust policies and procedures. Maintain an accurate up-to-date diary of activities in Outlook, and enter all appropriate data on to the Electronic Patient Record in a timely manner.

To provide specialist assessment reports as required.

To carry out joint work as required with colleagues of the clinical team, contributing to other forms of treatment such as family therapy and group work.

2. RESEARCH, AUDIT & GOVERNANCE

To support and undertake audit as appropriate within the service.
