Options for Care is recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to work at Montague Court, one of our mental health inpatient services in Birmingham. We have additional facilities:
Dartmouth House, Stanford Court, Orchard House.

We are looking for a dynamic OT with a passion for working with people who have severe and enduring mental health diagnoses. The MOHOST is established as the core occupational therapy assessment tool, providing evidence of change and focus on occupation. Additional assessments are completed as led by service‑user need.

• Plan and deliver a range of occupational therapy assessments and interventions promoting recovery and well‑being for service‑users with severe and enduring mental health needs.
• Coordinate and lead on provision of the therapeutic programme, including running both group and individual sessions.
• Work as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of the Head of Therapies, ensuring the occupational needs of the service‑users are considered and addressed.
• Assist in running the Occupational Therapy team, providing management supervision to OTAs.
• Understand and implement the mission, vision and values of the organisation.

£36,506.11 to £44,316.91 per year. Permanent, full‑time.

• Essential:
  Post‑registration experience working in inpatient rehabilitation and recovery settings; experience of MOHOST as an assessment tool; sound theoretical knowledge of Occupational Therapy and use of evidence‑based practice; awareness of current issues and legislation relevant to mental health; ability to use assessment as part of the OT process; ability to demonstrate use of OT interventions relevant to inpatient rehabilitation group and individual work;
  
  ability to use reflective practice; supervisory/appraisal skills; experience of being a practice educator.
• Desirable: 18 months experience working in mental health; experience working in a range of mental health settings; risk assessment and risk management skills.

• Communication/Relationship: strong interpersonal skills, excellent team working skills, willingness to participate in the education of others.
• Planning & Organisational: ability to prioritise work to meet legal and local deadlines, ability to work alone and as a committed team member, support development of junior staff.
• IT: use of computer‑based systems and programmes Microsoft Word, email.
• Physical: accurate data entry and high‑quality typing and report writing skills.

• Essential: BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, MSc Occupational Therapy or a Diploma in Occupational Therapy; registration with HCPC.
• Desirable:
  Relevant postgraduate training courses;
  Food Safety Level 2; membership of RCOT.
