Senior Accountant / Management Accountant - 12-Week Temp Contract
Location: Central Birmingham (2 days in Office)
Qualification: CIMA / ACCA / ACA essential
Split: 50% Audit / 50% Management Accounts
Start: ASAP

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support a busy finance team during a critical period. This 12-week assignment requires a confident, qualified professional who can deliver across audit, controls, and management reporting.

• Support the 2025 audit: prepare/review working papers, reconciliations, supporting evidence.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and Q1 reporting.
• Maintain internal financial controls, ensuring reconciliations and system controls are completed accurately and on time.
• Lead annual statutory accounts preparation and liaise with internal/external auditors.
• Manage quarterly forecasting and variance analysis.
• Oversee daily income reconciliations and investigate issues promptly.
• Support financial system upgrades, SOP reviews, and financial policy updates.
• Assist FP&A and senior finance leadership with budgeting and project work.
• Provide resilience for senior finance staff, including cover for the Financial Controller.

• Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA (non-negotiable)
• Strong background in audit and management accounts
• Excellent understanding of financial controls and statutory reporting
• Able to work independently and manage competing deadlines
