A growing independent tax advisory firm is seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager to join its expanding Transfer Pricing team based in Birmingham. The team works with a diverse client base across multiple sectors, supporting businesses through the full transfer pricing lifecycle. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for transfer pricing services, the firm is looking to strengthen its team with talented professionals who are keen to develop their careers within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Background and Experience- Applicants should have strong experience in transfer pricing and broader tax matters. While expectations will vary depending on level, candidates should ideally demonstrate the following:
- Assistant Manager:
At least 3 years in a tax role with significant exposure to transfer pricing. - Manager:
At least 5 years relevant experience. - Experience working on transfer pricing matters including, but not limited to:
- Thin capitalisation
- Intellectual property structures
- Documentation and reporting
- Transfer pricing controversy and dispute resolution
- Exposure to broader international tax concepts, corporate tax compliance, transaction structuring, or tax due diligence would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Experience managing client relationships and interacting with advisers or intermediaries.
- Strong understanding of key transfer pricing topics such as:
- OECD and UK transfer pricing guidance
- Statistical and economic analysis
- Benchmarking methodologies and platforms
- Intra-group financing and lending arrangements
- Thin capitalisation and corporate interest restriction interaction
- Transfer pricing adjustments and tax/customs treatment
- Practical implementation of transfer pricing policies
- Awareness of Pillar Two developments
- Ability to identify opportunities for additional tax advisory services.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members, including graduates.
- Candidates should hold a recognised professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent. Alternatively, a postgraduate qualification in economics, finance, law, or accounting combined with strong transfer pricing experience will be considered.
